OFF the rails completely. Just what do the GOP/TP stand for these days? Oh, that's right. Smaller government. Like in the hands of fewer people? Like them? I want these clowns to fall so hard, it registers on sesmic devices in Japan.

OK, suppose you had your way. No more Republicans. They just all stay home and abandon politics and never vote again. What then?

Look at the budget proposal Obama put forward this January. The Senate voted it down 97-0. That's right: not even a single DEMOCRAT supported it.

The reason? The proposal just wasn't serious.

We have several worked examples of uncontested Democrat rule. Washington, D.C., for instance. Chicago.

Eh, he's just posturing. A balanced budget ammendment wouldn't even get close to 75% of states ratifying it, especially once they realized it would mean substantially less federal funds for their own state budgets.

Agreed. Another not-serious playing to the crowd move. Sigh.

I don't want Republicans to go away.

I do take some exception to the idea that the system is broken simply because Mitch McConnell is not getting the results he wants.
